Scor Pal and Copic Markers

If anyone is interested in placing an order, we are ordering from Scor Pal and Copic next week.

SCOR-PAL-is to the card maker what the paper trimmer is to the scrapbooker!

The slightly textured scoring surface is 12" x 12", with a raised fence at the top (ruler markings) and on the left and right side. This aligns your paper for perfect scoring. No more crooked cards! Grooves are across the board at different intervals. Besides the normal 1/2" and 1" intervals there are grooves at 2 1/8" for gate fold cards, at 4 1/4" for normal A2 cards, and at 3.666" and 7.333" for brochure folding (divides 11" paper into equal thirds) When you place your card stock on the scoring surface, you are able to do multiple scores without moving the paper. Grid cards, accordion folds, boxes etc are scored in seconds. The score lines result in crisp, accurate folds! At the 0 to 1" mark and 11" to 12" mark there are 1/8" markings. By proper paper placement this will allow you to score 1/8 " increments such as 1 7/8" The included scoring tool snaps into place at the top of the unit. It is always at hand. It has been specially designed to fit the grooves so the card stock can not be torn while scoring. Additional scoring tools can be ordered separately. Perfect tool for straight and diagonal line embossing on cards and scrapbook pages!

Copic Markers will be ordered in singles and sets.

Call to find out more, we can take credit card info over the phone.

We will be carrying these products in the store now, but they will be ordered in limited supplies at first, so it's a good idea to pre order what you want to ensure it is ordered just for you!

You Know You're a scrapbooker when...

I saw this cute little article by Melissa Wilson in an old scrap magazine, and thought I would share it with you guys!

You know you're a scrapbooker when...
~You usually have a camera with you.
~You wonder if you'll ever get caught up.
~You have tools your husband doesn't know how to use.
~You pull buttons off old, unused, or outgrown clothes to use on a layout.
~You know who Lisa, Becky, Ali, Jennifer, and Tim are.
~THe clerks in your local scrapbook store know you by name.
~Your house is a mess because you've been scrapbooking all day.
~You know what CK, CKU, CKC, HOF, SOY, and KOTM stand for.
~You can spot an Elsie sticker faster than you can say Louis Vuitton.
~You check online galleries and blogs more than you check the news.
~You save the ribbon off Godiva chocolate boxes to use on your pages and cards.
~You change your child's outfit to match the paper you just bought...so you'll have the perfect photo to go with the paper.
~Your scrapbook bag is the first thing you pack for vacation, prompting your husband to mention something about your priorities.
~You know that scrapbookers don't lie, we embellish.

How do YOU know you're a scrapbooker??

Post a comment telling us how you know, and on Friday a randomly chosen comment will win a My Mind's Eye paper pack, containing 6 sheets of MME paper, 3 coordinating embellishments, and a pack of MME ribbon to match!~

June- Father's Day and Graduation

Hey Scraphappy Family, this is Carla blogging for the store today. It is a HOT, beautiful Saturday here in Pensacola and a great time to do some scrapbooking in the cool of air conditioning. I am hoping to encourage you all to do some Father's Day layouts (LO) for the special men in your lives, or go ahead and get those graduation pictures in an album. I am one to talk though. I have never done either and Christy challenged me to do both. Now I am passing that on to you. I have a few pics of some simple layouts I did for both Father's Day and graduation. Here they are:

I was inspired by this site to do this clean layout.I wanted to add some special journaling from our children so this is how I solved that:I used Penny Lane (My Mind's Eye) for the patterned paper, Making Memories paint, stamps and chipboard are from Technique Tuesday.

Here is also a Father's Day card. I used the patterned paper and ribbon by My Mind's Eye. The rub-on is by Karen Foster.

On this Graduation LO I also used Penny Lane for the patterned paper and diecuts. I used Thickers for the title, and Making Memories paint.
Christy has me working on an acrylic mini album and I am so excited about it. I will post that later this week. You all have to stop by Scraphappy and check out all the acrylic items you can make. Plus, I cannot wait for the new Basic Grey Lemonade line to arrive at the store. Just think of the scrapbooking possibilities.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Toddles,
Carla

"Dear 'Ol Dad" Father's Day Card!

Hello everybody!

Father's Day is just around the corner, so its time to get crackin' on the cards for our Dads, Step-Dads, Grandpas, Husbands & all the other special guys in our lives, if you haven't done so already.

First of all, I have to apologize for the poor quality of the picture of my card; my scanner is NOT behaving & my DD left the camera charger in Mobile at my sisters house! Therefore I had to resort to snapping a pic w/my phone, which of course has NO flash. Yay!

The card I've posted today was made for my "Dear 'Ol Dad". My Dad has always signed my birthday cards & letters as "D-O-D", otherwise known as "Dear Ol Dad", ever since I was a little girl. When I got the idea of crafting a "banner" card, it seemed only fitting to use "D-O-D" instead of "D-A-D"!

What would be your take and/or inspiration on my "banner" card?

Supplies used:

  • Fancy Pants "Buddies" (Fancy-free collection; Spiffy)

  • Yellow Bazzil cardstock (I used scraps!)

  • Green chipboard letters

  • Stickles - Lime Green

  • Cats Eye ink - Blue Iris

  • 8 1/2 in. white ric-rack

  • 4 white eyelets

  • Crop-a-dile

  • Other: Argyle mini stamp, Crop-a-dile, mini bookplate, green mini brads

Technique hint: To create a "shadow" effect with you cardstock letters, very carefully peel (w/your nail) your chipboard letters in half. Adhere the bottom layer of you letter first; then carefully adhere the top, or second layer, of your chipboard letter approximately 1/4 of an inch to the right of your first layer. Repeat for all remaining letters. (I inked the "bottom layer" of my chipboard letters with the same ink I used on the edges of my card as well as for my stamp. You don't have to do this! The "naked" chipboard look is fantastic as well!)

Happy Crafting!

Colleen

Hello! My name is Colleen Gorman Chambers, & I am so excited to be a part of Christy's Design Team! I've been scrapbooking for only 2 1/2 yrs...ever since I switched careers to full time Stay at Home Mom! I have two kidlets, Madeline (13) & Dillon (7). My husband Greg is the manager at Floral Tree Gardens on Hwy 29, and we have been living in Beulah for nine years now! My family is originally from Upstate NY, & in middle school, we moved to Mobile, AL. I am the youngest of 6 kids & was the only one to move to Mobile w/my parents. I graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic H.S. in Mobile and then attended the University of South Alabama.

I would classify my scrapbooking style as eclectic, with a few dabs of classic & quirky. I use a lot of black, white & bold colors (I'm not scared to use neon people!), and I love to doodle and journal with my white pens on dark papers. I tend to go through phases where I go absolutely bonkers over a certain icon or theme; Last year it was owls (who doesn't love these "wise" birds?) and this year it has been chandeliers! My daughter and I are currently re-doing her room, and I found a FABULOUS, gaudy chandelier in a local antique store, that is just begging to be spray painted hot pink! (Probably a project that I will want to share pictures & post about!)

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, and I look forward to sharing some of my "style" with you guys! You will also see me on occasion working part-time inside Scraphappy! I do have a blog that is currently a "work in progress", so when its up and running, I'll post the link.

Bye for now!
