Fun Hand-Made Paper Clip Embellishments!

Happy Thursday everyone!!  It's Ashley, and I am here to share my first little tip/tutorial post.  These are really quick and easy and very versatile.  You can pretty much use your imagination and decorate them in any style you can think of.  I did these, using the new Halloween collection from My Little Shoebox, which are available for purchase at ScrapHappy!

Here is what you will need:

Large Paper Clips (You can find these in Office Supply stores in a range of colors)
Patterned Paper
Baker's Twine
Rhinestones/Brads
Punches
Adhesive

I started by cutting out my shapes on the Expression and using punches for my circles.

Next, I used a Zig Squeeze & Roll pen to adhere my baker's twine.  These "pens" seem to work well for adhering twine, because they make a fine line of glue and you can "write" or trace out your paths easily.

Once the glue dries, you can start layering all of your pieces.  I like to add pop dots in between some of my layers, just to give them a little bit more dimension.

After you are done layering, flip your embellies over and glue your paper clip to the back.  I like using hot glue...well just because hot glue is awesome and it sticks really well!!  :)  Make sure you attach the paper clip in the right direction, with the opening of the clip pointing down.

For my final step, I added a punched circle over the back of the clip, just to cover over where the paper clip is glued to the embellishment.

Here is how I used the finished product:

These would be great to make ahead of time from scraps and then when you are looking for the perfect embellishment, you can grab a few paper clip embellies and add them to your pages.  You can also use these as bookmarks and they would make great gifts for those avid readers you know!!
