Message Board idea...

HI guys,
Just wanted to show you a simple project we did here at Scraphappy. We used a feather boa to make a frame around one of the 11x14 magnetic metal panels. It made a really cute "frame." I'm thinking this would be cute to do again for Valentine's Day!
See you later!

So much to blog about!
If you're like us, you are looking for some inexpensive gift ideas this year. We have a few ideas to show you, and will post others as we get them done!
Here are handmade ornamentswe did, that we grouped in a set of 4.

All we did was use some winter rub-ons, centered them and rubbed them on, then tied coordinating ribbon in a big bow. You could use letter rub-ons to do names or messages.
We also did some gift bags with cute little tags:

We have some card kits ready for those of you who havent finished your holiday cards yet! The kits have enough supplies to complete 10 cards with envelopes, everything is pre-cut, all you have to do is assemble! The kits come with 10 Bazzill cards, 10 envelopes, 10 embellishments, 10 brads, 5 yds of ribbon, and 10 card fronts.
We have 2 classes coming up soon, as well as some crops!

We are cropping Friday the 11th and Saturday the 19th.

October News and Dates
Hi everyone!
Thanks for coming out for Scrap Pink last weekend, we raised a little over $700 to send to the Susan G Komen for a Cure foundation. I had a really good time, hope everyone else did too! Thank you so much to everyone who helped out in one way or another all weekend or beforehand. Check out the blog and website for pics!
Those who came by to crop or shop over the weekend already know this, but for those who didn't get to come by, we are EXPANDING! As of November 1st, we will be in the empty suite beside Wallpaper Gallery. It is more than 3x the size of this store, has its own parking, and many other features that you will have to come by and see once we are in there! There will be a HUGE crop area that will remain in place at all times, and two other private rooms that can be rented out at any time for cropping, parties, meetings, or whatever you’d like! I am very excited, and want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting the store already! Not to sound cliché, but without you guys, we literally would not be able to grow so quickly. We will be adding a good bit to the inventory all at once, so if there are any special requests, get them in ASAP!
~Moving Sale!! Unfortunately, the entire store won’t fit on the hot pink golf cart we used during ScrapPink weekend, so, we are having a moving sale! From now until Oct 31st, there will be Buy 1, Get 1 Free items throughout the store! Stop by to check it out, different items will be added to the sale throughout the month.
~World Card-Making Day Sale!! Come in on Saturday the 3rd and order a Scor-Pal for only $30!!! That’s $10 off regular price! Offer good Saturday only!

We will keep the card-making station set up in the store from now on, so you can also do this anytime you come in, or you can bring cards that you’ve already made to put in the box to be shipped off. The next deadline for cards will be November 1st, all Christmas and Hanukkah cards need to be in by then. Visit cardsforheroes.org for more info!
*Thursday, Oct. 16th Photoshop Elements Class 1 of 4 6pm
This is a 4-part series on how to use Photoshop Elements. You must own PS Elements and a laptop to join, unless you have a friend that is taking the class that doesn’t mind sharing. *Saturday, Oct. 17th Midnight Madness Crop $10

*Saturday, Oct. 17th “Gypsy” Acrylic Album 1pm-4pm $40

Pockets, envelopes and other interactive elements make this a fun album to create. We R Memory Keepers paper, Imaginisce’s blossoms and bling brads, Teresa Collins journaling cards, plus plenty of ribbon, complete this kit. While the sample features a roundup of summer photos, the colors and themed rub-ons included allow you to make this album for a variety of subjects or events. We'll bind it, tie on the ribbon, and then you'll have a unique album to show off this fall!

Scrap Pink 2009 is Almost Here!!
Scrap Pink is such a wonderful way to connect with others touched by breast cancer. In honor of my sister-in-law and a good friend of mine who have both battled breast cancer, I did a few layouts to go on the Scrap Pink Wall. Here are the LOs:

******
In order to be prepared to scrap by the weekend I am going to have to get an early start deciding what I am going to bring. Isn't that the hardest thing? Trying to narrow down all your stuff so you don't need a truck to haul it all in? I am going to sort photos and papers to try to get focused and actually get some layouts done (at least that is my plan). My husband is already hip to my game. He says, "Do you really need all that time to scrapbook? You are gone all that time and you only have 6 pages?" I say, "Honey, you just don't get it." But I am thinking, "A crop is a ton of work, let's see: I scrap...talk...eat...talk some more...fawn over everybody's stuff...look at everyone's gadgets that I don't have ...make a list of all the stuff I now "need"... scrap... talk... eat... complete 2 layouts in 6 hours...(sigh) isn't that just the best." Scrapbookers have the most fun!
Anyway, I am sure we are going to have a great time this weekend! Get ready!

Scrappers by Day, Tattoo Artists by Night!!!
Cute shoes, huh?! Can anyone guess what stamp that is that she chose? *The fleur-de-lis is not part of the stamp.*
I thought she was pretty brave for going that big on the first one!
~The first person to guess the stamp and brand that this design is from will win the stamp set!~
Good luck!

getting in THE PINK!!
Are you getting ready for Scrap Pink 2009?
I sure hope so.
Christy has some fabulous things planned
& so many things to benefit such a worthy cause.
Here's a preview of a few make-n-takes.
Using some of the fabulous Pink Paislee
& some very appropriate stamps:)
A card, 2 bookmarks & a magnet.
This layout is of a scrapbooking friend I met on-line.
We met sometime during 2006, maybe even late 2005
& found out we lived 5-hours apart.
So, while her family vacationed in Gulf Shores, AL,
her & I got together for lunch!!
In 2008 she was diagnosed with breast cancer
& is currently in remission.
Sorry for the bad photo, but it's been raining!!
I've got some cards & a layout in the works.
So mark your calendars
& I'll see you September 25th - 27th!!

September Classes Added...
Thursday, August 27, 2009
First Bra In, New Stuff in, Photo class added...
Stop by to vote or to turn yours in! Many local businesses are creating a bra to represent their company, so if you have a business, get some free advertising and make us a bra! We even have a bra coming all the way from Jamaica! There are some cheerleaders from local high schools decorating bras in their school colors, so if you have school spirit, you'd better get your friends together and make a bra to help your school win the most votes! Also, if there are any college football fans out there, you'd better get working on your bra, because we have several in the works!
Today we got a visit from Justin, AND our Fed Ex delivery guy! I mean, 2 boxes of new stuff in one day?? It was seriously a great day! :) Come by and check out the new stuff, which will continue coming in regularly! A few things that came were some of the new Tim Holtz Stickles, and tons of requests, like dirt bike stuff, 50th anniversary, softball, racing, Air Force, Fancy Pants, transparencies, Pink Paislee and more!
Also coming up is a photography class here at Scraphappy on September 8th from 6pm-8pm. The class is being taught by the owner of Rob's Camera, formerly Ritz Camera. Having great pictures for our layouts is just as important as all of the pretty paper and embellishments we use, so come learn some tips from a pro! The class is only $30, and Rob will be giving you guys $20 in coupons to his camera/print shop. Check the website for a detailed class description. Call or come by to sign up!
Don't forget, we are cropping this weekend from Friday 6-midnight and Saturday 9am-midnight. There are still spaces available, call to reserve yours!
Thanks guys, and have a great weekend!
