Happy Earth Day!

Hey everybody! Hope you are having a great day today with this beautiful weather. I decided to post some scrappy recycling tips today in honor of Earth Day. I found these ideas on various scrap sites, hopefully you will be able to use some of them too, I know I will! After reading these, leave us a comment telling us an idea that you have for recycling your scrap materials. We will choose one winner tomorrow morning, to receive one of the new Rusty Pickle Scrap T-shirts of your choice!

From Piggy Tales, LLC:

Got Chipboard? Everyone has left over alphabet letters from a number of manufacturers, but maybe you can't spell a complete word because you are just a few letters short? Sound familiar? Take alphabet letters from all of your sources (Don't be afraid! They don't need to match at all!) and try one of the following tricks to make a cool eclectic title fit for any of your most creative projects:* Cover all the letters with the same piece of cardstock (extra fast trick- put glue on the "pretty side", flip it over and adhere it to the opposite side of the cardstock. Cut around each letter with a craft knife and when you turn it over, TA-DA!! A coordinating set of letters, shiny and new!* Paint or ink the letters to match* Use the negative space from your puched out letters to create words. Use chipboard in only the first letter in the title and use letter stickers or your own handwrtiting to complete the word!

From Craft Critique:

Craft Critique is having an Earth Day Blog Carnival. For my ABC flash card project...I used the packaging that my Bo Bunny Flexible ruler came in. I saved it because it was cute and looked like a little purse. I altered the "purse"/package and created ABC flashcards to go inside for my dd.Credits: Heidi Grace pp,alphas, chipboard, cardstock stickers, ribbon, flowers, brads; Gelly Roll clear star pen; cardstock

From Hopestampseternal.blogspot.com:

She used a coffee sleeve as the textured band across the front of this card! Cute!

There were tons more awesome ideas, but this is all I could fit! Good luck and can't wait to see your ideas!

Ooops! I forgot to leave my recycle ideas. I have used old scrap paper for school projects, crafts for church, and art projects. With my scraps, I save them to use on smaller projects like cards, mini albums, tags, etc. I usually give away embellishments I don't use.
